Girls’ Generation – TTS Wins ‘M! Countdown’

Following their first win on MBC’s “Show Champion”, Girls’ Generation – TTS took home their second win for “Twinkle” on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on May 10th.
Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun came out wearing new outfits from the music video of “Twinkle” and showed off their funky vocals and fun choreography. The girls were unavailable to accept the award because they left earlier for the KBS Open Concert in Yeosu. Following the performance, fans spread the link to the YouTube clip of the performance on Twitter, and the video title trended first worldwide. “Congrats TTS” also trended as high as fifth worldwide in celebration of Girls’ Generation – TTS’s victory.

“Twinkle” is already becoming a hit, reaching over ten million views on YouTube in under ten days and taking the top spot on the weekly Hanteo chart. Additionally, Taeyeon’s OST song, “Missing You Like Crazy”, continues to do well, ranking first on the OST chart for “M! Countdown”.

Taeyeon and Tiffany, who currently host MBC’s “Show! Music Core” with Seohyun and recently MC’d MBC’s “Korean Music Wave in Bangkok” with 2PM’s Nichkhun, will also be the hosts for MBC’s “Korean Music Wave in Google”.
Previous article from 12/05/04:
Girls’ Generation will be performing alongside other artists at the Google Headquarters, located in San Jose, California.
The group will perform at an employee-only event on May 21st at 6PM PST with TVXQ, Super Junior, KARA, SISTAR, MBLAQ, BEAST, and the Wonder Girls.  This will be the first time a K-Pop concert of this scale will be held in the Bay Area.
The concert will also be the first ever K-Pop event to be broadcast by Google, alongside Korean network, MBC. Regarding the concert, a staff member said, “The interest in local concert holders has increased with word of Korean singers performing at Google headquarters. Korean singers’ concerts were usually at the focus of resident Koreans, but this Google concert will have local American pop fans. This will prove that Korean artists’ concerts don’t only appeal to Korean fans, but to global fans. We are predicting that through this concert, the demand for Korean singers’ concerts in the US will increase greatly.”
Meanwhile, the day before the concert at Google, SM artists will be holding the SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR III concert at the Honda Center in the Los Angeles area on May 20th.

Girls’ Generation – TTS Takes Home the Trophy on MBC’s ‘Show Champion’

As a part of the promotions for their latest album, Girls’ Generation – TTS took to the stage on MBC’s live music program, “Show Champion”, with the songs “Twinkle” and “Baby Steps”.
For “Baby Steps”, the girls wore their hallmark dark purple outfits, a subtle color to fit the song’s gentle nature. Despite this, their performance was anything but subtle, as they kept up well with the song’s demanding notes and never appeared to falter.
For the more up-tempo “Twinkle”, the girls took a fun approach to their performance. They had a male announcer introduce them before they stepped out in light-blue toned outfits reminiscent of cabaret shows from the past. As usual, they livened up the stage with a high-energy performance.
To top off a good night for them, the girls also won this week’s “Champion Song”, selected through public online polls, votes from experts, and number of album sales.
Check out cuts of the performances below, as well as an encore after winning.
